This is a drug dealer describing some bad product the supplier had shown him. "Te juro, casi le daban el lomo." Any ideas?

Sounds like "they nearly turned their back on him" or almost refused the deal.

turn your back on

wow, this is really a challenge. was it a subtitle? or dubbing?

it does not sound to me like ´they almost turned their backs on him´,. besides, who are they?

´casi le daban el lomo´ to the product?or to the supplier?

Assuming that the dealer almost turned his back on the supplier, he would have said ´casi el doy el lomo´. But I never heard that expression for casi le doy la espalda. Anyway, dar la espalda means to betray, to ignore someone.

If the dealer was about to kick the supplier´s face for trying to sell him such a bad stuff, then the dealer would have said ´Casi le doy por el lomo´, meaning he almost kicked his teeth off.

Dar el lomo means to work hard, to break your back.

But here this does not seem to make sense.

lomo is the back of animal so maybe they turned their back on him. Maybe lomo is used for a human back where the person is from.
