although 'me gustan las mujeres' is equivalent to 'I like women' in English, it's a little tricky because the verb 'gustar' actually means 'to be pleasing'.
So the me gusta(n) part means it/they are pleasing to me.
You use gusta for the singular 'it' is pleasing and 'gustan' for the plural' they are pleasing'.
So in your case you are talking about the plural 'las mujeres' so you would need 'gustan' - hope you can understand that and that it helps ![]()
Gustar is one of those fun Spanish verbs where the verb doesn't agree with the subject. Rather than being a direct translation of "to like", it's more like saying "to me it is pleasing".
To say "I like women" you would say "me gustAN las mujeres" because your verb is going to agree with "las mujeres" instead of with "yo".
However, if you wanted to say that you like a particular woman "I like that woman", you would say "me gusta esa mujer".
Other verbs like this are "doler" which means "it hurts me"
eg. "My leg hurts" translates as "me duele el pie". And if both of your legs were bothering you, you would say "me duelen los pies"
Espero que te ayude.
