hasta cuando /desde cuando

Question

In this show she said, "hasta cuando lo sabes" and she seemed to mean "desde cuando lo sabes" = How long have you known? Can they both mean that? I think of "hasta cuando" more as "hasta cuando vas a dormir" how long are you going to sleep but I thought "desde cuando" was needed for more past things like "how long have you known?" Gracias.

Literally:

hasta cuando lo sabes = until when do you know it?

desde cuando lo sabes = since when do you know it?

La traduccin 'until when do you know it?' suena rara en ingles. Lindydelf sugieste 'How long are you going to know it?' y creo que eso tiene mas sentido en ingles. - Jeremias, Sep 10, 2010

Im no expert but I though so too. I would translate them this way:

Hasta cuando lo sabes=how long are you going to know it?

desde cuando lo sabes=how long have you known it?
