I would like to translate: "Next best thing to catching a plane to Brazil." I'm describing a production company that creates Brazilian events in LA.
Is this correct? "El siguiente mejor cosa al lado de tomar un avión (o viaje) a Brazil."

I would use "lo mejor después de eso" although margaret´s looks pretty good also.
