When a thread says "Updated -- secs / mins ago"?
Hi everybody , I have a silly question but for some reason I want to know the answers , sometimes when I see my threads it says updated ---- secs/mins ago, but when I view it I notice that : no one has made any comment , no one has edited any answer , no one voted or un-voted any answer or a question
.
Then how it's updated is it a glitch that happens all the time or what ? .
.
I know that this is not important thing to ask about but I really would like to know .
Thanks you so much ![]()

Hi Lovely
This may well be "Admins" such as myself just delving around the site. I just tried clicking the edit button on this post and without editing anything, I re-looked looked at it and it said it had been updated.
Then how it's updated is it a glitch that happens all the time or what ?
I think you are right, Lovely -- it's a glitch in the system. I have seen this happen a few times to threads that have no visible updates or recent votes. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often.
From my observation, only three things update a thread:
1) a vote for the question
2) a new comment
3) a new answer
we are all the same, and i think it means that you asked this question before .........sec\mins ago ![]()
Nothing so mysterious, sorry.
A view does not change 'last update'
All it takes is one comment on the question or any of the answers.
One comment ... you could just add a ![]()
I like that word, glitch
