What is the difference between obra and trabajo?
I have two phrases I am studying. One phrase is "a causa de la obra" and the other phrase is "el trabajo". I am trying to figure out what the difference is between "obra" and "trabajo" which can both mean 'work'?

El trabajo is the the work that you do i.e your job whereas obra is work as work in progress like roadworks etc. a work of art can also be referred to as una obra.
Trabajo generally refers work in the sense of labor, or what you do with your days to earn a living. Obra refers to a more general meaning of work - a work of art, the work of one's life, a work of art, a play... Same word in English with a wide range of meanings, but two words for different senses of the concept in Spanish.
