I saw this sentence on a text book and the reply to this question is "Si, son de Chile". This really baffles me.

The sentence should be ¿Son de Chile sus vecinos?. Don´t forget the first inverted question mark. - Eddy, Sep 8, 2010

"Are your neighbors from Chile?"

"Yes, they are from Chile."

Next time give the translation work a try. SpanishDict and GoogleTranslate can give you an idea of what the sentence means if you're totally lost.

No. This is just sentence structure, which is common in question forms. You can say "¿Sus vecinos son de Chile?" but it doesn´t sound natural and this is better reserved for statement forms. "¿Son de Chile sus vecinos?" is the best structure for asking this question.

Could one use a comma in the original sentence? "Son de Chile, sus vicinos?"
