I keep hearing a word that sounds like "keira" that means to be located.

E.g. La officina "keira" lejos.

Can anyone help?

Well generally the verbs for location as in a specific place are, ubicar or situar. To be located at would be estar situado en or estar ubicado en.

To locate can also be defined as "to find" which could be localizar or encontrar. example,

Por fin lo encontramos - finally we found it.

I realise this doesn't answer your question but wonder whether any of them come close.
