I actually pulled this phrase from the back of a bottle of Woolite Pet Stain and Odor Remover: "Mantengalo fuera de la alcance de los niños." Obviously you would change the "lo" to "la" if the object is feminine. The verb "mantener" that is used here literally means "to maintain."
