How do you say " I learned the preterite tense"?

I want to know how to say, "I learned the preterite tense", "the future tense", etc.

Aprender = to learn
Tiempo = tense
Pretérito = preterite
Futuro = future

I learned the preterite tense = Aprendí el tiempo pretérito

Of course, if you had learned the preterite tense, you'd know the aprendí part.
