Remember, a direct object pronoun (lo/la/le/les) replaces your direct object and when you replace your direct object with a direct object pronoun you put it before the transitive verb

lo/la Ex. I greet him. Yo___ (direct object pronoun) saludo

1. look at who you are talking about(you are talking about him)
2. now, insert the direct object pronoun ending for him (3rd person sing. which is lo)
3. insert your new ending into the blank to get your sentence Yo lo saludo. Remember, you don't need Yo.
