ser vs. estar artistica/o
Hola!
I am supposed to be tutoring a girl in Spanish tomorrow, and one of the things we are going to talk about is Frida Kahlo. Only thing is, I am not sure whether or not "to be artistic" uses 'ser' or 'estar'. I am 99% sure I am supposed to use 'ser'. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the help!

I don't know if you can 'be' artistic in Spanish. My first thought would be to say 'tiene un don artístico' or 'la habilidad artística.... someone?
I think '' Ser '' is the correct one ![]()
Margaret is right. The closest in Spanish you can call a person "artistico" would be an "art director." This word is used as an adjective of things - not people.
You could also say, ie: "Frida Kahlo era una artista muy prolífica y la esposa del pintor, Diego Rivera."
Definitely 'ser' because it is a characteristic. =]
