In the Ozomatli song, "La gallina," what is the chicken? I mean, I know it's a chicken, but "¿suelta la gallina y védate?" Is it really a chicken or . . .?

The lyric is "suelta la gallina y libérate," So, let the hen go and free yourself. Since a hen is a female chicken, I'm going to go with a slang name for your woman or wife.
