How do you say "Experience?"

How do you say "Experience?"

I feel like there are different types of "experience." One type is knowledge. "He has experience in the mental field." But what about, what people go through. For example, "Some people experience different feelings." How would you translate the word "experience" the way that it is used in the latter sentence?

For example,

"Some people experience different things."

I get stuck in the experience.

It's a different type of experience.

Looking at this dictionary it seems similar to English where the same word is used and the subtlety of different meaning is derived from context.
