If "en serio" means seriously then what could this mean? He gave it to her seriously? Gracias.

Or it could be that a comma is missing.

"¿Crees que le dio, en serio?" "Do you think that he gave it to her, really?"

I know another plausible, unpleasant, but not rude meaning:
