Cuánta agua = tanta agua. ¿No es verdad? Gracias. I know I asked a similar question yesterday.

I think it's a matter of cuanto, without the accent meaning how much, and tanto meaning so much.

¡Cuanto te extraño! : How much I miss you! No sabes cuanto te extraño. You don't know how much I miss you.

¡Te extraño tanto! : I miss you so much! I'll be interested in others' opinions!

(Your post: agua would take cuanto/tanto)

I figured it would take cuanto too, but relistening she most definitely says cuanta. So I was thinking maybe it's like how you say agua fria and not agua frio. - jeezzle, Sep 1, 2010
Hey, that's interesting! - Sheily, Sep 1, 2010
Jeezle is right. It's cuanta agua fría. Cuanto me gusta el agua calientita. - Gekkosan, Sep 1, 2010

From the RAE:

  1. adv. relat. cant.
