how to say "may I hold your hand?"

how to say "may I hold your hand?"

I want to know how to say "may I hold your hand?" - or "holding hands" - or "would you like to hold my hand?"

I've tried online translation programs... but it is strange. they translate "may i hold your hand?" from english to spanish as puedo coger tu mano? or puedo sostener tu mano?

then if I translate from spanish to english... it becomes -"may I take your hand?" - "may I catch your hand" - or "may I support your hand?"

just wondering which one is most correct or most often used in spanish.

if if people who speak spanish don't hold hands and therefore don't have a direct translation... just joking about that last part.

thanks.

Welcome to the forum, lunogrin

it depends, in Spain we use coger all the time, in other countries this is a rude word, so not recommendablewink

¿Puedo cogerte la mano?

¿Puedo tomarte la mano?
