The definitions that I have found all revolve around eating quickly. Perhaps the definition of shove is in the sense of shoving food quickly into one's mouth.

My dictionary has a version which is "zampado" from the verb "zampar". It means "to eat in a hurry, to wolf down. I have plenty of other meanings for "zampar" but nothing for "zampeado" which I cannot find.
