Which one is right? They like him or they like her? Your answer depends on what you want to say, because both of your options are correct in Spanish.

"Le gustan" = They like it/him/her

"Les gustan" = They like them

Both of them are correct. However, the person is different.

Le gustan: because the verb "gustan" is plural, it meanS he likes something more than one thing or like doing something more than one.

For exapmle: Le gustan la novela y la revista. He likes novel and megazine. or Le gustan ver la televisión y ir de compras. He likes watching televesion and shopping.

Les gustan: the different from the first one is just the person "he" becomes "they".

In Spanish this expressions seems reversed. Rather than saying "I like it," you would say "It pleases me," or "me gusta." "Me" is the direct object, so that pronoun must match the person being pleased. "Gusta" usually remains as "gusta." So, "Les" or "le" would be correct, depending on whether the person being pleased in singular or plural. However, the second word should remain as "gusta."
