If I'm trying to say something like,"I just bought a ticket for England,"or"I have a ticket for México," how would I say that?

Maybe - "Acabo de comprar un billete por Inglaterra"? - "Acabo de comprar un billete para Inglaterra"? - "Acabo de comprar un billete a Inglaterra"? - "Acabo de comprar un billete de Inglaterra"?

Destination is always "para", not "por": "Un billete para Inglaterra", although alternatively you could also say "a Inglaterra", since verbs like "ir" (to go) take the preposition "a".

@lazarus, thanks! Can you believe I've been speaking spanish since I was 7 (I'm almost 16 now) and I still have trouble with por vs. para? Everything else, I can do great. Heck, I taught myself a full school year and a half of Spanish in three weeks earlier this year, but I still can't figure out por vs. para. It's been explained to me by books, websites, Spanish teachers, Spanish majors, even my own mother (speaks Spanish almost natively) and I still can't figure it out.... Ah well. Thanks! smile
