"De modo que" used oddly

I always think "de modo que" as "as a result" or "because of that", "so that". This show uses it a lot like this..... De modo que eso es la única solución. Seems to mean, "so that is" or "so that's" or "It seems like that is"....... What do you think? Gracias.

Here it is simply "so": "So that is the only solution". Notice that with indicative you are simply stating what you think, while in "Do it so that you can help" there is no such declaration, so you have to use subjunctive.

So De modo que can mean así que, pretty much?
