A few wedding details....for all who asked. :)
Hola todos,
It is now ten days later, but I would like to take the time to thank everyone for their well wishes for my son's wedding in this thread.

The point of the thread was not so much a "Hey, look what is happening in my life!..." thread. For me, it was more of a "thank you" that a forum like this exists where we can learn Spanish/English, but also share a bit of ourselves in the process. When this whole engagement began, I was thrilled for my son and my gorgeous yerna. However, on a personal level, I am not in the same place as most of my friends. I had my son as a teenager. Most of my friends' children are still in grade school and thoughts of weddings are far from their minds. It was nice to be able to share my joy in the forum with people of all different age groups, experiences and backgrounds. ![]()

As for the wedding, it was very beautiful. I know I complained about all of the details in the past
, but I can now see how wonderfully everything came together. I loved walking down the aisle with my husband in a tux (what guy doesn't look gorgeous in a tux?) and cried when I saw my two daughters walk down as bridesmaids. My daughter-in-law's uncle married them, so the wedding had a very personal feeling. Her brother and uncle played the guitar, piano and mandolin and also sang (not all at the same time). There is a ton of musical talent on both sides so we're crossing our fingers for a grandchild (many years from now) who will be a musical genius.
The reception was held at a golf course/country club, which was a beautiful setting. It started outside, overlooking the green and then moved inside for dinner. They decided on an eclectic menu, so swordfish and steak were served alongside hamburgers and hot-dogs. Everything focused on the comfort and enjoyment of the guests. There was even a basket of brand new flip-flops provided as a gift from the bride and groom so that people could continue dancing comfortably.
My favorite moment of the night was the mother/son dance. So much of the night was a blur to me because there were so many people to talk to and there was so much to take in. However, that one dance will be cemented in my head forever as we had three minutes to talk, laugh and cry together. The song was Mamafrom Boyz 2 Men, a song which he chose several years before meeting his bride and promised we would dance to at his wedding.
They are now honeymooning in Mexico.
I apologize for the long-winded description, but so many asked for more details, which is so kind and thoughtful. Heidi will be helping me to post several pics of the bride and groom, which were taken around Philadelphia a few weeks before the wedding. And of course, one of the pictures includes them on stairs, which happen to be the Philadelphia Art Museum steps made famous in "Rocky". When they return I will see about adding more photos as I am leery about posting pics of the bridal party and reception without permission. Anyway, if you have read this far, I will be shocked and amazed. Thank you to all for their thoughts, well wishes and love.
Abrazos,
Nicole

.
Even though I haven't met you yet, congratulations on your son's wedding! And for the record, any teenage mother who is willing to sacrifice time to raise her child deserves special praise and recognition, so congratulations on that too ![]()
Gracias Nicole, thanks for sharing. What a big day.
Anyway, if you have read this far, I will be shocked and amazed.
I can't believe you said that!
After the way you included us all as if we were family, and how many well-wishes you got on Sharing special moments it would almost be better if you slipped that line out. You don't get 23 votes on a question that nobody reads.
And we are looking forward to the pictures!
So happy to hear this Nicole.... Congratulations on becoming a Mother In Law....

It is good that you danced with your son, for a Perfect song.... I love that song a lot...
