Is this "chicas lesbianas"? I think ambiente means gay here. Am I wrong? Gracias.

I think it is chicas de ambiente and I think you have it correct.

I, like "LateToDinner" think that "chicas de ambiente" makes more sense. I've never heard the word "ambiente" used like a full adjective (ie. agreeing in number) in this context. It looks like a colloquial creation, but I doubt it is a standard accepted usage.
