Hardest thing to learn
What is the hardest thing to learn in Spanish?

The verbs , I guess ![]()
I don't think any individual piece is all that difficult. Some people have trouble remembering all the rules for the various subjunctive tenses. Some people have trouble rolling their R's.
I think the hardest thing is realizing you can't just translate word for word. You can't just look at the literal meanings of words in the dictionary and understand the whole language. It's learning the idioms, slang, swear words, etc., that really takes time and effort, for me anyway.
Pronouns - se, le, la, lo etc ..... especially when there is a combination of two together e.g.
Se le rompió el dedo (she broke her finger)
Se le movió el piso (The world moved under him)
I find this really difficult to get my head around.
Just remembering the sheer volume of words. The more I learn, the more I realise there is more to learn.
Sometimes I'll see a word and remember it straight away and forever. Other words need constant repeating before I stand a chance of remembering them.
Still, when it falls into place and I communicate with someone in Spanish, it's one of the best feelings.
