Un or Una???

To say table in Spanish, you would say: "Mesa," but the proper thing to do would be to say A Table. So, you can say, "un' or "una." Mesa ends in "a" so, that would imply that it's feminine, but the translator says that to say a table, you must say "un mesa" Does mesa just end in "a" for no reason? I guess I'm trying to say, why do you say "un mesa" instead of saying "una mesa"?

So, to say a table, would be: "una mesa," not "un mesa?" Right??

That's right :) - rabbitwho, Aug 25, 2010
There are a few words that have minority endings though, like "un día" which means a day. But mesa is regular. - rabbitwho, Aug 25, 2010
