Hi! This is covered in lesson 2.3
Let me see if I can remember what was said...
Le is the direct object here, and we can see it's before the main verb.. so I assume the direct object pronoun has to go before the main verb? Am I right? Don't take that as right!

It means: him/her.
The translation of your sentence is: How can I help him/her ?
