Cualquier vs. Alguno/Alguna

They both mean Any ( ANYTHING)

Are they interchangeable in their usage?

It´s not accurate to say they mean anything.

cualquiera - pron. anybody, anyone. / adj. any, whatever; whichever

alguno - pron. some, any / adv. a few / . adj. some, any; not ... any; one

Most of the times they are not interchangeable.

Some examples to start with:

Cualquiera

pron. indef. Una persona indeterminada, alguno, sea el que fuere.

Cualquiera puede manejar un auto = Anyone can drive a car.

alguno

1. adj. Se aplica indeterminadamente a una o varias personas o cosas respecto a otras, en oposición a ninguno. Alguno vendrà = Someone will come

2. adj. Pospuesto al sustantivo, equivale a ningún o ninguna. No hay razón alguna = there is no reason.

3. . adj. Indica número, magnitud o grado ni pequeños ni grandes. Algunos amigos vinieron a la fiesta = Some friends came to the party
