"How long is the wait?"

How would you say "how long is the wait?" in Spanish Like if you were in a restaurant or waiting to get your haircut.

Well my spanish is still in its early stages, so I would say it very slowly.

In English, this is really an idiom, which doesn´t translate well.

I would say, "¿Por cuanto se tendrá que esperar?" or "¿Por cuanto tendré que esperar?"
