Games directly in Spanish
I created a game that asked players to work directly in Spanish- rather than the usual ones on here that encourage translation from English. As a Spanish teacher, it is my understanding that translating is actually often detrimental to developing skills in a target language and I was trying to introduce a new way idea. My game did look somewhat similar to another game of Por vs Para, but that one required the players to use English- I was trying to offer an alternative and don't understand why it was shut down. Can somebody open that back up?

Hi la maestra roja,
Posting a question in the forum, is probably not the best way to get the answer you are looking for.
It might be better to pose such questions directly to one of the forum administrators (Heidita or Eddy) by PM because they would be the only ones with the authority to shut down a thread (or to reopen one for that matter). I am sure that if you PM them they will be able to answer any specific question you might have as to why the thread was shut down.
I would mention to you that all games that are posted on the forum are required to be moderated by either a native speaker or by someone who is recognized to be of an advanced level. That way, people are actually able to learn from any mistakes made during the process of the game. I did happen to notice that in your profile, you posted your own level as that of a beginner which may have something to do with why the post was shut down.
In any event, as I said before, you might want to shoot a PM off to one of the forum administrators/moderators. That way you can discuss with them any specific steps you might need to take in order to start a game.
Best of luck ![]()
