Do we get points for voting for someone else's answer?
I do not receive reputation points for voting for someone else's answer.

3 reasons not to get points for voting up answers:
- If you already have 200 points within the last 24 hours.
- If you have already received 10 points for voting up answers within the last 24 hours.
- If your Rep level is over a certain number, you may be limited to so many.
Don't know the precise numbers in #3 yet, still studying it but I think that since passing 9K, it dropped to around 3 per 48 hour period or some such.
Technically, points are awarded for studies, lessons, flashcards. We should be using the label REP in this discussion. We know what we mean, but we are amiss in our vocabulary.
None of that is terribly crucial, one point at a time isn't worth a good solid answer to a question, that can benefit lots of people and get you between 30 and say 100 points.
Something to keep in mind is that while most points are instantaneous, sometimes some show up a little late.
And Wansell, it may have frustrated you but it looks like you may have made a lot of people happy! Are you trying to get to 4k one point at a time? That is a lot of voting. Having not seen that before, I wonder if you managed to trigger an internal flag in the computer since I see you are only at 30 and no points for voting in the last 48 hours. Hmmmmn! Hope you voted quality while you were doing quantity.

Is there a fourth reason? More often than not, I do not receive ten points per day. I do receive a few scattered points here and there for voting up members. But it is really hit or miss. I may receive zero points for several days, then all of a sudden, I might receive the one point after voting up three posts, but then the next seven will register as a zero. It is truly bizarre.
Strange things also happen with my badges. Last month, I didn't receive many badges for a few weeks. Then all of a sudden, I had about forty when I logged on one morning. I have been here for over a year, but it doesn't show that I received a first anniversary badge.
The reason I wonder about this is not because I miss the points or badges. They are certainly not the reason I am here. My question is whether or not this has to do with my browser(s) or some other mystery. I know some have difficulties voting and other assorted problems.
It does make me curious but not enough to think about it until someone opens a post like this. 
You can only get 200 points per day. I think after you have 100 points in a day, you can no longer get points for voting up others. I'm not sure of all the details, but I know there is a cut off, well before you reach the 200.
You get one point for voting up someone else's answer or question. Click on your points score and you can see a rundown of recent activity.
I don't think you can vote if you aren't signed in, but you may want to make sure you're signed in just in case.
Yes. I believe the reward is but one point but, if it's points you're after that's an easy way to get them.
