in lesson 1.2 i didnt understand whats the difference between cómo eres? and cómo es? so i want to know can we use anyone of them to ask what are you like?

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Their meaning is the same. The difference is the level of formality. ¿Cómo es? is more formal; it is used for people whom you address as usted. ¿Cómo eres? is less formal; it is used for pepole whom you address as .
