Lesson 1.3

Question

I have a problem, not sure if it's the webisght or just me being somewhat stupid. After looking at the video for lesson 1.3 I can't start up the recognizing part. When I try to click on it to make it start up nothing happens. doe anyone know what I could do to solve this?

Try loading Firefox. It seems to work well for me. It was really hard to get rid of Internet Explorer, but I finally did. If I want, I can still use Google chrome, but only for emergencies.

Are you by chance using Internet Explorer? The SpanishDict website seems to perform better in most of the other browsers. I would be happy to expand on that if you like.

But back to your situation ... You should be able to click on 'Recognize' or 'Continue to Flashcards' to leave the video and after the video, even if you are using IE. If you can not, it is something that is unique at your end ... consider a restart! Actually, first try a refresh.

II'm using google chrome. I start to think that it is as you said, something uniqe on my side. I think I tried everything that someone (as not tecnicall) as me me can coe up with. I will see if it's possible to try on someone elses computer instead. - PetraHall, Aug 13, 2010

If you click "recognize" on the points scoreboard on the right, it comes up. At least it does for me.

Try it and let us know.

Oh, that works, it's when I'm clicking on "start recognizing" that nothing happens. I'm startin to suspect that it's all about my coputer who doesn't want me to speak spanish... *sigh* - PetraHall, Aug 13, 2010

On the right side of the video, there is a group of boxes that say:

Watch

Recognize

Listen

Recall

Write

Speak

Did you click on Recognize and nothing is happening? Try running through the flashcards again.

I'm clicking on recognize, and so far so good. ut when I'm going to click on the green "button" where it says "start recognizing" nothing is happening. I will see if i can try to do it on someone elses computer, just to see if it works from there. - PetraHall, Aug 13, 2010
