¿Está bien así? Gracias.

Baby sneezes Bebé estornuda

Mommy pleases Mamá complace

Daddy breezes in Papá entra como si nada

So good on paper Tan bueno sobre el papel (En teoría)

So romantic Tan romántico

But so bewildering Pero tan confuso. (The dictionary says that bewildering is desconcertante but doesn't that mean disconcerting? That's not exactly the same thing is it?)

I know nothing stays the same Sé que nada se queda igual

But if you're willing to play the game Pero si estás disponible a jugar el juego

It's coming around again Ya habrá otra oportunidad (see this question)

So don't mind if I fall apart Así que no te enfades si me derrumbo

There's more room in a broken heart Queda más espacio en un corazón roto

You pay the grocer Pagas el tendero.

You fix the toaster Arreglas el tostador.

You kiss the host goodbye Lo despides con un beso a aquél quien te invitó. (I see that the dictionary says anfitrión for host. Is that a common word everywhere?)

Then you break a window Entonces, rompes la ventana.

Burn the soufflé Quemas el soufflé.

Scream a lullaby Gritas la canción de cuña.

And I believe in love Y creo en el amor.

But what else can I do? ¿Qué más puedo hacer?

I'm so in love with you. Estoy tan enamorada de ti.

Tan bueno sobre el papel (En teoría) - Tan bien en papel

Pero si estás disponible a jugar el juego - Pero si estás dispuesta(o) a jugar el juego.

Así que no te enfades si me derrumbo - Así que no te preocupes si me derrumbo

Queda más espacio en un corazón roto - Hay más espacio en un corazón roto (this is very much a matter of interpretation - yours is not necessarily wrong)

Lo despides con un beso a aquél quien te invitó. - Te despides de tu anfitrión con un beso.

Entonces, rompes la ventana. - Luego rompes / quiebras una ventana

Gritas la canción de cuña. Gritas una canción de cuna.

¿Qué más puedo hacer? - ¿Per qué más puedo hacer?

Very , very nice job!

Thanks! So, anfitrión is used in Central America for host? I don't know how I've managed to never hear that word. - alba3, Aug 12, 2010

My goodness Alba, I think that is an absolutely amazing job. Very poetic in English and so hard to translate a song. I have a few teeny ideas for you to consider (but only consider because I think it is super right now.) Oh and I think 'confuso' is a perfect choice. In this phrase (and I don't know because my grammar has major holes now) - Sé que nada se queda igual - do you need the 'se'? Play the game: how about ...si estás disponible seguir el juego instead of 'enfadar' I think 'importar' might be closer to 'mind' Despides con un beso al anfitrión (Definitely used in Spain) (Do you need the 'lo'?) Are youu going to put this on Youtube for us to hear? Wow, that would be super!

Thanks, Margaret. I wish that the translation was singable. Unfortunately, the rhythm and rhyme are almost always off in translations unless you take a lot of liberties. I'll let you know though if I ever make my debut in Spanish on Youtube ;) - alba3, Aug 12, 2010
