Welcome to the forum.

If you're just looking for the Spanish words for firefighter and policeman there is a dictionary at the top of the page that works pretty well.

Fireman

Policeman

I know the names of them, I need words to describe them. - skobbo812, Aug 12, 2010

Hi, welcome, skborro!

The dictionary will give you the words for a male firefighter and a male police officer. The word for police officer won't change its form to refer to a female police officer, but you will need to use the feminine definite or indefinite article to make clear you are referring to a woman.

I have been told that there is debate about whether to change the ending on the term for firefighter when referring to a woman firefighter. Most of the advice I have seen says to change the ending from -o to -a. Whether you change the ending or not, you still change the article to feminine (el to la, un to una).
