To me, Luis Miguel is an easy one, as he usually sings boleros or ballads, which are quite slow songs and you can hear the lyrics clearly. They have helped me a lot, too.

Selena or Jennifer Peña is a good place to start. Songs from them you can start with Como La Flor from the album Entre A Mi Mundo from Selena and No Hay Nadie Igual Como Tú from the album Seduccion from Jennifer Pena. Well you can also try Christina Aguilera try the song Mi Reflejo from the album Mi Reflejo from Christina Aguilera. Hopes this help.

Check out Juanes. Colombians tend to enunciate their words clearly. The first couple songs I learned (in an early Spanish class) were from him:

Fotografía Un Día Normal A Dios le Pido Luna (a little harder)

These are from his album "Un Día Normal."

By listening to "A Dios le Pido" you will also get exposure to the "vos" you form - s30572, Aug 7, 2010

Julieta Venegas is very good for this. She pronounces the words in her songs very clearly, and it is very easy to understand.

My favorites are:

Eres Para Mi

Me Voy

Otra Coso

Primera Dia

Fantastic question. I think that's a great way to pick up Spanish. I don't know what your tastes in music might be, but the great Freddie Fender recorded a lot of early rock in Spanish. One of his great hits was "Since I Met You Baby" from the early 60's, and he recorded this ("Desde que conozco") and many others on an album called "Canciones de mi barrio" which you can find on itunes.

Another suggestion I have, if you like Ranchero style Mexican music (think, C&W south of the border) is un grupo llamado Los ALegres de Terán, and their album Solo Lo Nuestro. These songs are also enunciated clearly and a lot easier to understand than a lot of other hispanic music.

¡Los disfrute!

Your suggestion made me go to youtube.com and look for their songs as I'm a fan of any kind of Mexican music. Very nice, thank you! (although the post was addressed to another user, haha!) - maria_k, Aug 6, 2010

Believe me when I tell you, that this album by Jose Feliciano is great. Boleros are ballads, sung with some exception rather slowly. His pronunciation, and vocabulary are easily understood. You can't go wrong listening to this, and the sequel, Señor Bolero 2.

Well, Roxy Music wrote a nice Latin song:

"Ecce momenta

Illa mirabilia

Quae captabit

In aeternum

Memor

Modo dolores

Sunt in dies

Non est reliquum

Vero tantum

Comminicamus

Perdita

Tous ces moments

Perdus dans l`enchantement

Qui ne reviendront

Jamais

Pas d'aujourd'hui pour nous

Pour nous il n'y a rien

A partager

Sauf le passe"

--Roxy Music - A Song for Europe

The rest of the suggestions posted here all appear to be in Spanish, I'm afraid.

I think Enrique Iglesias is rather easy to understand, he sings clearly. I know almost every word from "Dile Que", it's probably the easiest song I know.

I just discovered the site http://www.batanga.com/es/

It's free, in Spanish, and divides music by genre. I love it!
