More stuff for my project. Do you think........They tease the bull with a cape. Or maybe just "se burlan el toro con una capa"? Gracias.

Edit: It's just a project I have no personal investment in the idea of bullfighting.

Jezzle, please unaccept, the correct word is not capa. And it is not se burlan de.

Burlan al toro con un capote.

So if they were making fun of him, it would be "se burlan de" but because they are not making fun of him, but rather teasing him with the cape it's burlan al? Gracias. - jeezzle, Aug 5, 2010
Right Jeezle. The expression that Heidita offered refers to the bullfighting action: the bull is fooled, or "mis"lead with the capote. Heidita has provided what I gather is the correct term. Not being a bullfighting fan, I also call it "capa". - Gekkosan, Aug 5, 2010
bullfighting has very specific terminology, capote, burlar...actually, there is a place called: burladero - 00494d19, Aug 5, 2010

One also can use "distraer, "engañar", and "capear" in this context. To say nothing of "hacer pasos al toro".

I think "hacer pasos al toro" is probably a very adequate translation! - Gekkosan, Aug 5, 2010

It would be "se burlan del toro con una capa". The verb is "burlarse de alguien".

Not my idea of fun I think I would want a military tank to tease it with rather than a capa.
