(Una) menta para el aliento = a breath mint (A mint for the breath - closest thing to it !)
ejemplo:Siempre tomo un créme de menthe refrescante después de almuerzo = I always have (lit take) a refreshing peppermint after lunch
ejemplo: Siempre tomo (una) menta para el aliento después de almuerzo = I always have (take) a breath mint after lunch

Hola,
Yo solamente diría "menta", puedes añadir "para el aliento" si lo deseas, pero creo que "menta" se entiende.

I've only heard menta as well, but looking on google I see a few hits for "menta de aliento". Here is the Spanish Tic-Tac wiki where the refer to them as "mentas de aliento". link text
