I started my first day of tenth grade today and they have started letting sophmores take Spanish and I am in it! Are you all allowed to help people with homework? I know completly doing homework for somebody is against the rules but is helping?

I am very proud to have such a nice young gentleman like you on this site, and I think we all are, Ericsmile

You have come far...and it is nice to still see you around. I remember when you started here, you were one of the most enthusiastic members we hadgrin

Helping is what we all do here, Eric, so helping others is just what you should do!

Thanks a lot for staying with us and telling us about your achievements.

Congrats Eric! You'll have a blast in your Spanish class. I have a feeling you are going to be waaaaayyyy ahead of your classmates due to your knowledge you have gained here! So of course they will all probably be asking you for help, and of course you know it's wrong to do your friends homework for them, you already knew that. But certainly helping them is great, as long as they are doing the work, not you!

Like Heidita said, We're here to help! grin

So here's a tip for when you ask for help: Help yourself by presenting your question along with what you think is the answer and why. Then it will be clear to everyone that you are looking for guidance, not for having your work done for you. wink

I've read many of your posts and you express yourself really well. So I'm sure that when it comes to asking for help here, you'll keep that same clearness and preciseness in your questions.

Eric,

Good job mate.."tenth grade" "..."sophmores" ..it all sounds like another language - but sounds fabulous and if I was a teacher I would be chuffed to have someone with your enthusiasm in my class...

Ok chuffed is a new one for me. What does that mean? Excited and happy? Never heard it before. - jeezzle, Aug 4, 2010
Yes it's an english expression for very pleased. - kenwilliams, Aug 4, 2010
And added on to that in some areas they say "Chuffed to little mint balls" - kenwilliams, Aug 4, 2010
Lovely comments Annie :) - FELIZ77, Aug 5, 2010

Good for you Eric! I am so happy that you will be able to be in the Spanish class this year. You are the same age as my daughter, who will be taking her second year of Spanish. I wish she shared your enthusiasm. wink

I think when most of us where your age, we didn't appreciate learning a second language. You already have a love for Spanish, so you will be light years ahead of the rest. Having passion and enthusiasm for a subject is one of the best things you could have going for you.

Please keep us informed of your progress through the year! We will be here to cheer you on!! smile

Keep up the fervor for learning new things... rather than, be bored with every day life, as you've said before. And Eric.... Always, be true to yourself. Don't let anyone convince you that you would be better, being a copy of 'themselves'. / Saw me in you, and had to say that!! smile

You will do great, Eric. You already have 10K. How many of your classmates can say that? You will probably be teaching the class soon. Wear this hat only if you want people to ask for a lot of help, jejejejejealt text

Way to go, Eric! Just don't let the other students rope you into being their tutor (unless they're willing to pay, jeje),

I think you'll really enjoy the class, but you'll probably find it pretty easy with your background.
