What is the correct term in Spanish for "reviewing" a book or movie?

I'm a librarian on a committee that evaluates new Spanish and bilingual books for children. I need a meaning for "review" (=transitive verb) which would be used/understood by publishers and would convey the sense of evaluating a book in order to recommend it or not recommend it to others. We could also use the term for "review copy," because that is what we are requesting from selected publishing houses.

¡Mil gracias!

hacer una crítica de... (name of the book) or reseñar... (name of the book). They're both transitive verbs.

also at that site are two suggestions for "review copy"

  • ejemplar para prensa
  • ejemplar para reseña

‹book/play› hacer(conj.?) (or escribir(conj.?) etc) la crítica de, reseñar

review book
