synonym for a lo largo?

I'm helping a friend with her essay, and she likes to start every paragraph with " A lo largo de la historia," "A lo largo del reino," "A lo largo de treinta años." What can I suggest an an appropriate synonym (or two)?

despues de todo -- after all
all in all -- todo en todos
finalmente -- lastly
en breve -- in short
en resumen -- in brief

A este punto en la cuenta...
Después de muchos años felices del reino...
Siguiente...
One doesn't need these little introductory phrases at all to start a paragraph. It's probably better writing to get to the heart of the story without them, no?
