I have 2 books from the same publisher and same series. One says that orange in spanish is anaranjado and brown is café. The other says that orange is naranja and brown is marrón. Which is correct?

I guess what I should've asked is are they both the same? Can they be used interchangably or are they maybe for describing different shades or used in different regions or something like that? - lil_tortuga, Aug 1, 2010
Luisa I think you mean thread my friend (not threat lol) - FELIZ77, Aug 1, 2010
There was a really good thread for the options on how to say brown and its variations. You should check it out. Gracias Feliz. - LuisaGomezBartle, Aug 1, 2010

Hola,

naranja. 3. m. Color anaranjado.

I was told simply that anaranjado is the color whereas naranja is the fruit. This is just what I was told, here, by someone, I'm not sure who. smile

That's what I thought too. Though now I've seen naranja listed as the color in a book and on here. Though the book I saw it in was a kids' book so maybe they were just trying to keep it simple? What you're saying is what I first learned... - lil_tortuga, Aug 1, 2010
