Hi, Sabrik. Welcome to the forum.

For the year 2010, one would say "Dos mil diez."

For the year 1862, I'd say "Mil ochocientos sesenta y dos."

El año que viene = Next year. Los años 50 = the fifties. Nací en el año de mil novecientos treinta y seis. I was born in the year of 1936 etc.

En los orales usamos "las" para los anos apartir de 2000.

Ejemplo: eran las 2001, eran 1990

========================================

When we are talking, we use the word "las" for the years after 2000.

Example: It was the 2001, it was 1990

I would have thought that you use the word Los for years. - kenwilliams, Aug 1, 2010
