Does my score change when I take the test the 2nd time?

Hi,

I took the recall section and scored 46% the first time. When I took it over I got 50% but it didn't change on the score card. Will this change?

Also I typed in some answers correctly but it came up as wrong. Even with the accent thing. Why is that?

I love this site! Thank you for these free lessons! I am doing Rosetta Stone and this is so so so much better! smile ?

Hello, and welcome to he forum. Sometimes the website response thing is a bit funny. You could try hitting refresh or trying again later to see if your score has changed. It should change. You can go back and take all the flashcard tests as many times as you like until you get a perfect score, theoretically.

I had a similar problem. When I finished the lesson the score did not change at all. I have no idea why! I do not concern myself about it. I think it will all average out in the end.

hitting escape but still here Pictures, Images and Photos lol

The flashcard answers have to be exactly the same, spaces, apostrophes, hyphens, accents etc. Its annoying to get the answer, but just miss a tiny detail, I do it all the time. Your points score will rise with a few repetitions.

Take comfort in knowing the right answer, thats the most important part, spelling and punctuation will come.

Amen, comfort in the right answer! - Orrinette, Jul 29, 2010
You have to know the answer before you can spell it. Don't worry about little mistakes and typo's. - fontanero, Jul 30, 2010

Sometimes, even if you put the right answer, it will be marked wrong. You just have to accept it. After all we are here to learn. There may be a few glitches, but it is a great site. Your points will build up. Try looking for a similar flashcard set. We have thousands. That way you can start at the beginning and all the points will count.

About your answers not counting as correct: punctuation trips me up sometimes, specifically I type a period at the end of an answer that I think is a sentence, but the original answer on the flashcard didn't have a period, so it's counted wrong. The flashcards are very unforgiving of extra spaces, too.

Bienvenida Orrinette!

I believe the short answer to your question is 'Yes'. (I'm not sure what you mean about 46% or 50%.) I think you are asking about going through the lessons again, and getting additional points. For example if you got 46 points then did it again and got 50 you should see an additional 4 points on your score.

I just looked at your Points (click here) and see that 25 minutes ago you gained 4 points. Is that what you were asking about?

I hope that helps! smile

Hmm, I will look at that, thanks. Interesting that others can see my score, could be embarrasing! :) - Orrinette, Jul 29, 2010
