I have a friend from Argentina and she used to tell me "te amo" nearly daily, now when she says it.. it's "te quiero mucho". I don't understand what the differences are and why she changed what she says.

What are your opinions on this? I don't know the differences! Thanks a ton smile

Te quiero - I love you (more of a friendly love; friends, family)

Te amo - I love you (more of a romantic love; spouse, lover)

Check out this article for an in-depth look at the differences. I hope this helps.

A very popular question here. I suggest that you search "amar vs querer" in previous threads.
