I understand that a policeman transltes to "el policía" BUT if it is a woman, does it change to "la policía"? Because it already ends in an "a" .......im not sure if this is right :/

El policía is 'the policeman', and la policía is both 'the police woman' and also the police in general, as in 'the police force'

Quick! Quick! Get through Lesson One section as quick as you can! Then, you will find yourself to Lesson 2.1, where you will find the very question you pose answered! Or, just slide on over to Lesson 2.1 on Professions plus, (since there's no rule that says you need to complete a set before going to another.)! ¡Bienvenido! & Enjoy!
