Another Spanish Level Test
For those of you interested in evaluating your Spanish language proficiency, this online Spanish level test is geared to give you a ballpark idea of just how good your Spanish is. While I have never found such tests to be accurate predictors of level of fluency, they can be useful tools in helping you to spot holes in your understanding of the Spanish language to allow you to better address any deficiencies. So if you would like to evaluate your own proficiency level, or maybe you are just interested in practicing your Spanish, why not have a go at this Spanish Level Test?
Post your results if you like. I hope that you enjoy it and good luck!!!

Ok I had to stop at the Intermediate level 1. Here are my results: The intial: I scored 8 out of 10. I missed question 3 and 4. For question 3 I put "se gusta" and it should have been "le gusta" and for question 4 I put "viste" and it should have been "se viste". For the elementary section I scored 7 out of 10. I missed questions 6, 7, and 8. I put "tan divertido de" instead of "tan divertido como" for question 6, I put "tenía" instead of "pasé" for question 7, and finally for question 8 I put "encontraban" instead of "encontraba". Now the Intermediate: I scored 8 out of 10. Note: I had to look up some of the words such as: "anulara" from the verb "anular" which means annual (duh!!!), "marcharemos" from the verb "marhcar" which means go, walk, toil, tramp (meaning to tramp around on a walk), track, etc. I missed questions 7 and 8. I put "hay" and it should've been "haya" for question 7. For question 8 I put "irán" and it should have been "vayan". I hope this gets the thread started and I hope it's not too much information!! If so, do erase what you want to Izan, no worries.
Great site and post!!
Very nice test, Izan, how did you do? jeje
IN any case, way to go, this is a test which actually does not simply "rate" but which gives explanations and does not allow you to pass onto the next level unless you pass the previous one.
I just clicked on "test now" and got, oh so sorry, jeje, but I could see the answers, extremely useful and very helpful. I suggest everybody do the test for learning, not for being "rated".
I reached the second intermediate level but struggled with the advanced levels questions and only got two correct lol
Oh well.. back to learning
I have to admit that I had to re sit one of the intermediate level tests but scored more highly on the second attempt after learning from my mistakes.
I did also score 8/10 for 2nd Intermediate level so that did encourage me lol (Mind you, it wouldn't be considered scientifically valid unless i could repeat them all and achieve exactly the same results lol) ![]()
Some of the questions seemed more complex and therefore challenging than for other Spanish tests like Cervantes or the BBC website even at the early stages. Or is that only my own perception of them???
We are all on a journey and this is a learning curve so I try to keep a balanced perspective and t to not become too discouraged by my mistakes. After all, these tests are only a guideline to, not an exact indication of, our linguistic ability/abilities. I did get 35 points up to Intermediate level 2 so I was encouraged while recognizing there remained much room for improvement lol ![]()
If I were to be totally honest I struggled at times to understand some of the explanations for why I failed to gain a correct mark for some of the questions
Me da tanta vergüenza! Solamente pasé "Elementary." Most of my problems were minor issues with conjugations. As someone else said, back to learning.
¡Qué pena! No has conseguido superar el nivel Intermedio II. Has tenido 5 respuestas correctas de 10, y necesitabas al menos 8. Puntos acumulados: 33
I'm usually pretty good at Spanish tests but I know where I always fall down. "La forma de Usted!"
. I dread it. I could whinge and complain about it all day but it wouldn't do me any good.
Great test, Iza - thanks a lot.
Is it only for me but I found a lot mistakes in the text. All those á é etc misspelled...
Hard to read and guess words.
Just wanted the night rotation to get a chance to look at this
Me -- I couldn't get past the 2nd test.
I'm at intermediate II. I got 7 out of 10 there.
10/10 on Beginner 7/10 on Elemental 5/10 on Intermediate I.
I got question 1 (haya), 4 (gustaría), 6. (anulara), 7 (haya), and 8 (vayan) wrong. I need to learn the imperfect subjunctive :(
I should have got #8, I was reading about adverbial conjunctions the other day.

Wow! That was hard! I got to Intermediate II but failed after that.
Very nice test, Izan, how did you do? jeje

Parece ser que tú nivel actual es INTERMEDIO II.
On the advanced test, there were a couple of idiomatic expressions that I was not familiar with, but I was able to guess the correct phrase to complete them based on what idea I felt the idiom was trying to convey based on the context.
All in all, I found the test fairly helpful in showing me some of the weakness in my understanding. After taking the test, I realized that there were a couple of areas that I thought I had down but see that I need to work on.
Tests are just a way for other people to ordain what your worth is.
Thanks for the Test. Got through the first level OK. Didn't know they had all sorts of rules for tan, and I don't remeber what other things. Useful explanations. good site. Someday, I may advance to intermediate.
