Cotorra: pretty or harlot?

I was looking up the word for parrot, and in our dictionary, the definition for cotorra lists the word as meaning "whore" in Mexico. I cross checked this with the DRAE definition which listed the following usage in Mexico

Dicho de una cosa: Bonita, atractiva, interesante.

I also checked in el Diccionario Breve de Mexicanismos which had this to say

cotorro, cotorra. (De cotorra 'papagayo'.) adj. Bonito, interesante.

Finally, I looked in Jergas de habla hispana which gave the following definition

cotorro (México) (sust./adj.) 1) simpático, agradable, curioso, ameno. 2) persona locuaz.

I was already familiar with the chatterbox/loquacious meaning as related to this word, but I had never heard the other two usages. There seems to be quite a divergence between the two proposed definitions Pretty, interesting, nice, etc vs. whore, and this left me wondering about the validity of this last definition.

Could somebody who is from Mexico or with familiarity with this word please tell me if this is indeed a usage that is used in Mexico. I appreciate any information that can be provided on this as I would certainly not want to try to tell someone that they were "simpático, agradable, bonita etc" and mistakenly call them a whore. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Yes, I came across those as well; however, I was more interested in this contrast in usage as employed within Mexico - Izanoni1, Jul 28, 2010
