Re: Video Lesson 2.1 Error - yes or no!
Holá los administratores, y todos vuestro miembros prácticos, (Hmmm! 'prácticos seems to lose the 'flattering oomph' and the meaning. I intended to say, 'savvy'. )
In the video portion of Lesson 2.1, the lesson is teaching the following, both in the written cue, and the teacher's intonation of the same:
Q. = ¿Quien trabaja en la oficina?
A. = El hombre de negocios y el recepcionista trabaja en la oficina.
My question is, shouldn't the word 'trabaja' be 'trabajan', conjugated to match the pronoun "Ellos" , seeing as there are the two professionals named that are working in the office?
I checked with the SpanishDict translation, and the "Babel fish" translated the English sentence, 'The businessman and the receptionist work in an office.' in this form:
El hombre de negocios y el recepcionista trabajan en la oficina. (Babel fish translation. The other two translating choices had obvious error of translation.. confusion in wording.)
I checked to see if trabaja worked in the case that it was " Who is working in the office? The manager and the secretary are working in the office." But that didn't gel. In that case the reading was:
¿Quién está trabajando en la oficina? El gerente y el secretario están trabajando en la oficina. (Google Spanish choice, with Babel fish having the same conjugations and grammatical reading.)
¿Quién trabaja en la oficina? El director y el secretario trabajan en la oficina. (The 'free translator')
¿Qué dice usted a eso?
