I was just listening to the second lecture from Spanish1 and wanted to make sure.

When translating : I want an egg. Should it become: Quiero el huevo. or Quiero un huevo. ?

They are two different sentences, and as such they translate to two different things in English. The first one is I want the egg, the second is I want an egg.
