Question

The phrase "sucientizacion de estados Migratorios" appears in a document confirming prior military service in El Salvador for the purpose of establishing current immigration status. Also in the document is the term "D-I Personal". Can these be translated? The original document may contain typographical errors.

Maybe it is a typo... Yo creo que debe ser sustentación.

Muchas gracias a todos. Se me ocurrió preguntarle a la persona descrita en el documento si puede sustituir un verbo apropiado. Hasta el momento, 'sustentación' es la mejor conjetura.

"sucientizacion de estados Migratorios" Well I see you have no takers and the reason I guess is the first word which I have googled and searched without result. the rest is I think just migratory states which doesn't sound so good in proper English but I assume it means states or countries from which people migrate. But depending on more context that could be way off. Maybe you have more that you could post?

D-I Personal Is this in English? If so, what does the acronym stand for if you know? Acronyms can be very tiresome because of course the people that use them daily know what they are talking about but the rest of us can be totally in the dark.

I was thinking 'estados migratorios' might refer not to political states but to the state of migration, as in status (already migrated, preparing to, etc). Just a thought. - MacFadden, Jul 26, 2010

"Es conforme con su original con la cual se confrontó y a solicitud del xxx, para ser presentada en las Oficinas de xxx. Sucientizacion de estados Migratorios, se le extende la presente en el D-I "Personal" de la xxx Brigada de Infantería xxx, a los veintitrés días del mes de julio del dos mil diez."

I'm not surprised that 'sucientizacion' appears to be a typo. The rest of the document is not perfect (e.g., Migratorios: no reason to capitalize that). I just can't figure out what the typist meant by 'sucientizacion'.

About "D-I Personal": That is the Spanish version. I assume that D-I is something like "Directorio de Información"--something having to do with military records. That is not so important, but since the document pertains to someone's immigrant status, the meaning of 'sucientizacion' (or rather, the meaning of what should have been typed instead) may be important. If you can think of a word that could be used there instead, I would be very grateful.
